If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you know that I love everything Milk Street does. Always phenomenal. If you’re already a Milk Street fan, you are going to love Milk Street Tuesday Nights Mediterranean. If you’re new to Milk Street, you’re in for a treat. They are absolute minimalists on everything but flavor. They’ll get you from the counter to the table in the easiest way possible. And they’re really strong flavorists.
I get a super lemony bundt cake on my birthday every year, and I like their Spaghetti with Lemon Pesto even better. It’s terrifically lemony. The lemons, almonds and cheese play beautifully together. It is absolute perfection. And Milk Street’s letting me share the recipe with you!
The recipe calls for 4 lemons, but only the zest is used, so make plans for that juice or use them to infuse water.

Oh, I just love what they’re up to over at Milk Street! Milk Street Tuesday Nights is filled with global recipes, but made totally doable for a week night. It’s a very relaxing book to work with. I frequently scale up the seasoning when I cook, and find that I just don’t need to with this book. There’s not an apologetically seasoned bite to be found. Our taste buds were really happy with everything. Well, I still scaled up the garlic a little, but not nearly as much as I usually do. Great stuff!
If you haven’t seen the show yet, it’s a really neat one. They have a lot of my (and probably yours if you’re reading this) culinary heroes on as guests, so you get a lot of points of view, and flavor injections coming to the party.

I adore PBS cooking shows, don’t you? Christopher Kimball has a new one, Milk Street, that’s just fantastic. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the book, Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street: The New Home Cooking. I’ve edited this to the current copy that includes all 4 years! I need this one! 😀
A huge thanks to Milk Street for letting me share their recipes for Israeli Hummus with Spiced Beef Topping and Tabbouleh with you! I was wowed by it! Vegetarian friends, skip the spiced beef topping, and go to your happy place. Omnivores, wait til you try that hummus!
(In my pic, 2/3 of the spiced beef topping is at the bottom of the serving bowl, then the hummus, then the other 1/3. The dish is about the hummus, so I didn’t want that covered up by its topping.)
My review of the book with my pics and thoughts of the dishes I tried is below the recipes.
